Ukrainian terrorist attack in Donetsk thwarted
On the day of the celebration of the fifth anniversary of the Donetsk People's Republic, the Ukrainian military attempted to drop an explosive device from a drone on civilian objects, as well as an attempt to fire mortars on residential areas of Donetsk.
Official representative of the operational command of the DPR Daniil Bezsonov stated this during a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Yesterday, on the day of celebration of the formation of the Donetsk People’s Republic, militants of the 57th brigade attempted to drop an improvised explosive device from an unmanned aerial vehicle in the village of Spartak. The carrier of the deadly cargo was promptly discovered by observers of the DPR people's militia. The enemy drone was fired upon by small arms fire, resulting in the detonation of an explosive device in the air,” he said.
Bezsonov noted that this was not the only provocation.
“By order of the war criminal Mishanchuk, another unmanned aerial vehicle was launched into the air, this time to adjust mortar fire on residential buildings in the Kievsky district of Donetsk. The defenders of the Republic did not allow the enemy's insidious plans to come true. The DPR soldiers also shot down this drone using weapons not prohibited by the Minsk agreements,” added the representative of the defense department
According to him, the skillful actions of the DPR NM servicemen left the 42nd battalion of the 57th brigade without aerial reconnaissance equipment, since all the drones supplied to the brigade by the so-called volunteers were destroyed.
