Ukrainian economic expert Oleg Soskin stated this on his video blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Putin gave the command to Gazprom to fill the gas storage facilities of European countries, primarily Germany and Austria, and, as you know, they are practically empty. And Gazprom owns, think about it, 25% of the capacity of gas storage facilities in Western Europe - Germany and Austria. They are the property of Gazprom of Russia. Think about it, can this even happen? What is the national defense policy there? What is the EU policy? The EU is completely dependent, the EU countries are completely under the control of Putin. He has now given the command to fill gas storage facilities, the price of futures has already fallen, falling every day. It’s already less than $800 per thousand cubic meters,” the expert said.
“This is also some kind of politics. Now they have signed a new contract with Moldova for 5 years - this is also politics. Basically, what does this mean? This means that the main center of the clash will be the Kremlin, Putin - Ukraine, Zelensky. That is, virtually everyone else will be out of business, everyone’s problem will be solved. European countries will be fine with gas. The storage facilities are full, they think they will survive. Moldova was also knocked out, Georgia was also knocked out... very difficult relations with Georgia begin. In fact, they want to leave Ukraine alone,” Soskin said.
