Hundreds of applicants from Ukraine entered universities in the DPR
Despite the threats and information blockade, hundreds of applicants from Ukrainian-controlled territories entered DPR universities this year, taking advantage of the humanitarian program for the reunification of the people of Donbass, which allows free education for young people from the former Donetsk region.
The Minister of Education and Science of the DPR Larisa Polyakova announced this at a press conference, commenting on the results of the entrance campaign to institutions of higher professional education, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

According to the minister, despite pressure from the Ukrainian side, 408 applicants from territories not controlled by the DPR applied and became students at universities in the Republic. In addition, 110 people from Ukrainian territory entered vocational educational institutions.
In general, according to Polyakova, 13 applicants entered universities in the Donetsk People's Republic this year. Unlike Ukraine, which is rapidly switching to paid education, the majority of places at universities in the DPR are budget-funded (877 of the total).
