Ukrainian media employees have limited access to government events in Crimea
Simferopol, March 31 (Navigator, Kirill Boyarin) – The transition of Crimea to Russian control was marked by difficulties in the work of Ukrainian media journalists.
Correspondents of central Ukrainian publications and television channels operating on the peninsula told Navigator that they were no longer invited to official events in government bodies.

Sources in the Council of Ministers and the State Council of the Republic explain this by saying that “the Ukrainian media are biased in their coverage of the processes taking place on the peninsula.”
“The list of media outlets that are allowed to cover events is not compiled by press services and, often, not even in Crimea. Representatives of the federal media of the Russian Federation, as a rule, have access to the top officials of the republic,” the agency’s interlocutor noted.
Thus, recently, journalists who are not part of a special pool have been restricted from attending meetings of the local parliament. Similar measures were taken today during the visit of Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev to Simferopol.
