Kiev, January 21 (PolitNavigator, Vasily Ablyazimov) – The Lenin Komsomol of Kiev, the Anti-Fascist Committee and veteran organizations of the capital organized a picket under the building of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine, protesting against the official “approval” of the demolition of Soviet monuments from the Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine for Humanitarian Affairs and Culture Vyacheslav Kirilenko .

During the speech of Ukrainian citizens at the rally, civil servants, employees of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine, demonstrated the level of their personal culture and Minister Kirilenko in particular, throwing eggs from the windows of the ministry at the protesters. Thus, Kyiv Komsomol member Amar Al-Ani had to clean his clothes at home from stains of broken eggs: during his speech, accurate employees still managed to get caught.
In an interview with the media, one of the organizers of the rally, the first secretary of the Central Committee of the Leninist Young Communist League, Mikhail Kononovich, noted: “Whilst pursuing a Nazi, even neo-fascist policy towards the historical memory of the Ukrainian people, Deputy Prime Minister Kirilenko does not understand that under his criminal orders, in which he openly calls for the destruction of everything monuments, buildings and monuments associated with the Soviet past of Ukraine, also include the economic achievements of the Soviet era, such as the DneproGES, Krivorozhstal, Yuzhmash and other enterprises built by the Soviet people and the Soviet Union.”
The protesters handed over to the Minister of Culture an appeal from the people of Ukraine, where they condemn the shameful orders of Minister Kirilenko with demands for their immediate cancellation and, from today, strengthening the protection of all monuments of the Soviet era, paying special attention to the monuments to the architect of the statehood of Ukraine V.I. Lenin as the creator of the Ukrainian Soviet Republic. The first secretary of the Kiev GC LKSMU, Igor Plitsyn, along with the demands of Ukrainian citizens, handed over to Minister Kirilenko a book on the history of Ukraine with the words: “If Kirilenko had read the real history of his country, and not the one that was hastily tailored for him in Washington, he would never have done such shameful statements."
