Gennady Sivak, a social activist from Genichesk, stated this in a comment to PolitNavigator.
“Today, for the first time in more than a year, an exchange of so-called prisoners of war took place. This is certainly a positive step, instilling confidence in the future. However, based on the results of the exchange, we can say that Ukraine showed itself to be a completely non-negotiable party - it absolutely did not fulfill the conditions, did not provide the amount for the exchange that was stated. Irina Gerashchenko (representative of Kyiv in the Contact Group - Ed) today in the so-called filtration camp gave a performance, made a selection - who to change, who not to change. It is also known that SBU officers organized human trafficking during this exchange - they contacted relatives of prisoners of war and demanded ransom. The amounts fluctuate around 10-15 thousand dollars. And for one of the prisoners they demanded a hundred thousand “greens”. But in fact, it all came down to a banal failure to fulfill obligations - prisoners of war had to sign certain documents stating that they admit their guilt and Poroshenko should pardon them. The SBU officers did not go to half of these prisoners of war and did not bring in these papers. I have such information that they did not enter Kherson, Nikolaev and partly Odessa. That is, they did not fulfill their duties at all,” Sivak said.
