The corresponding statement was made by the Speaker of the Information and Analytical Center of the National Security and Defense Council Andrey Lysenko.
According to him, people could confuse the sound of aviation with a repeater aircraft that communicates with military personnel in the border zone.
“It constantly changes its flight route so as not to be shot down, so people could hear its roar in the air,” Lysenko noted.
He stressed that Ukrainian aviation does not carry out airstrikes on populated areas of Donbass. At the same time, he noted that pro-Russian rebels could have struck Donetsk with a Grad or howitzer, and perhaps this is what people mistook for an airstrike.
As Navigator reported, eyewitnesses said that on the night of August 6, an airstrike was carried out on Donetsk. This information was confirmed at the militia headquarters. The Donetsk City Council also reported that the airstrike was carried out in the area of Sechenov Street in the Kalininsky district. There were no casualties as a result of the incident.
