“The UN Security Council spoke in Putin’s words” – diplomat
No one at the last meeting of the UN Security Council said a word that the Minsk agreements need to be revised, which Ukraine advocates.
The special representative of the LPR at the negotiations on Donbass in Minsk, Rodion Miroshnik, stated this on the Rossiya-1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“There was a lot of fluff at the UN Security Council, but the main result and essence is that the entire UN Security Council spoke in Putin’s words. In essence, they said one thing - something that is fundamentally unsuitable for Ukraine and something that it has been “stoking” against for at least the last year: the Minsk agreements must be implemented fully and strictly. For this there must be political will and a real desire for peace.
The Security Council, represented by all the participants, told you the following: you must cease fire, you must withdraw weapons, you must hold an amnesty, you must accept a special status with all the points described there... Not one of them said that the Minsk agreements need to be revised, not a single one said that the border should be given up before a whole set of steps prescribed in Minsk were completed,” said the LPR representative.
“There are figures from the Human Rights Ombudsman, the latest data for December, it says about the number of civilians who suffered in Donbass - 21 people in three months. At the same time, 17 people were injured on the territory of the LDPR, 6 died, the rest were seriously injured. Two people were injured in the gray zone and two in territory controlled by Ukraine. Who is violating the ceasefire? – Miroshnik asked rhetorically.
