Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Alexander Litvinenko stated this at the scientific conference “Ukrainian Second World War” held in Kyiv.
“The legitimacy of the modern Russian regime, the legitimacy of the entire machine directed against us, is based on the myth of victory in the Great Patriotic War,” the official believes. “That is why the truth, an unbiased view, the real Ukrainian vision of the history of the Second World War, unfortunately, become a weapon. That is why, unfortunately, we cannot consider the problems of the history of the Second World War solely in a historical and scientific context.”
