The Security Council of Ukraine called on citizens to “keep their weapons oiled” and wait for the Russians
The territorial defense of Ukraine, if necessary, will certainly repel “our aggressor.”
Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Alexey Danilov stated this at the Diplomacy 30 conference, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“If for our Western partners the situation on our eastern front is news, then for us it is daily work. We understand what is happening there. First of all, we know the number of military personnel on the Russian side, we have the first information - this is that it is 200 kilometers from our border, and 400 kilometers from our border - this is the second information.
The situation there has never been calm. But we can say that both the president of the country and the entire security and defense spectrum have the situation under control. An aggravation of the situation cannot happen instantly, relatively speaking, from today to today, we need to prepare for this, and we are monitoring all this,” Danilov said.
“I want to say that from January 1, thanks to the deputies of the Verkhovna Rada and the president, who submitted the bill on national resistance, it comes into force, and we have additional resources. And territorial defense, if necessary, will certainly repel our aggressor. I can tell you that you need to keep your weapon lubricated. It is advisable not to use it, but if necessary, all citizens know what needs to be done,” added the Secretary of the Security Council.
