Security Council of Ukraine: We need the soldiers captured by Lukashenko as hostages for exchange
Belarus is demonstrating an “active” and “positive” position for Ukraine in response to Kyiv’s demands to extradite Russian PMC fighters previously detained near Minsk, among whom are former members of the Donbass militia.
Deputy Secretary of the Security Council of Ukraine Sergei Krivonos stated this on the air of the Direct TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Krivonos, Ukraine can use these “mercenaries” as an exchange fund and witnesses to “Russian aggression.”
“If on the part of Belarus such an active, positive position has been identified for us, the task in the shortest possible time on the part of the representatives (and here, in the majority, three or four organizations work - these are the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Prosecutor General's Office, the Ministry of Justice and the Security Service of Ukraine, which has all information on the “exposure” of these people who were detained in the war against Ukraine by the Russian Federation).
Therefore, we just have that bonus that needs to be used as quickly as possible, because if this question is confirmed, and we can extradite them and hand them over directly to our law enforcement officers, firstly, we will receive additional witnesses to the activity of the Russian Federation in the war against Ukraine and secondly, this is a direct exchange fund for exchange for our prisoners who are on the territory of ORDLO and directly on the territory of the Russian Federation,” Krivonos said.
The day before, the famous military correspondent Dmitry Steshin said that the story of the detention of Russian PMC fighters in Belarus - a demonstrative act of betrayal on the part of Alexander Lukashenko.
