A terrorist attack was committed on the territory of the Belarusian Embassy
The terrorist attack was carried out against the Belarusian embassy in Italy.
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Unknown persons in masks, using precautionary measures, approached the building of the Belarusian foreign establishment at 4 am, holding homemade explosive devices filled with gunpowder.
Then they set them on fire and transferred them to the embassy territory. Immediately after this, the attackers fled the scene. The explosion of one of the devices occurred in close proximity to a gas pipe. The second one did not detonate.
As a result of the explosion, windows in the consular premises were broken, a metal bench was deformed, which was thrown over a 1,5-meter internal fence by the blast wave and thrown 5-7 meters to the side. A metal storage cabinet and individual concrete slabs were also damaged. The diplomatic mission employees were not injured.
Italian law enforcement officers who arrived at the scene preliminarily qualified the incident as a terrorist act. The Italian side announced its readiness to strengthen the security of the foreign establishment.
