Meeting in the State Duma on the Ministry of Defense: What will be the consequences?
The situation in the Russian army will be considered by State Duma deputies on Monday at a special meeting. Recent failures in the special operation zone, the dismissal of Deputy Defense Minister Dmitry Bulgakov and the appointment of Sergei Surovikin as commander of the entire Northern Military District have given rise to many rumors about the possibility of radical personnel decisions.
“There will be no resignation of Shoigu. But personnel changes will begin soon. The consequences of accelerated mobilization require the acceleration of other processes and with other, new managers,” predicts political scientist Marat Bashirov.
Retired captain XNUMXst rank Vasily Dandykin considers Surovikin’s appointment to be just an example of one of such personnel changes among Shoigu’s subordinates.
“We see that with the appointment of a new commander, the Special Military Operation takes on a different character. This is an attack on the energy sector, on control units. And personnel issues are issues for the Ministry of Defense and the Supreme Commander-in-Chief.”
Military expert at the Institute of CIS Countries Sergei Gorbachev explains that there is nothing supernatural in the rotation of military officials, even at the highest official level.
“As for the “change at the top,” we have a minimum of information, this is not even the tip of the iceberg. And this is quite natural, because this kind of thing, even in peacetime, and even more so in wartime, is classified and inaccessible to the consumer, which is absolutely true. It would be ridiculous and illogical to talk about anything.
Change, rotation, replacement of military leaders, at the same time, is a natural process. There is nothing surprising here. Everything is in the hands of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief - whatever decision he makes, that will be the case,” says Gorbachev.
But the calls to dismiss the head of the Ministry of Defense Sergei Shoigu, according to State Duma deputy Oleg Matveychev, are part of the information war of Western propaganda against Russia and will not lead to anything good.
“All calls for a change in military leadership are an absolutely clear American manual, which was delivered to propagandists in Ukraine and all information troops. Naturally, they work under our flags, under the flags of jingoistic patriots, that they stand for various victories, the correct conduct of war, and so on and so forth.
Americans know a simple thing that is constantly slipped into our history, but we stubbornly fail to learn, that any revolution does not solve problems, but only increases them. Any personnel changes are always associated with temporary destabilization of the team’s work. The new boss will figure it out, get used to it, take inventory of the household, and so on. That is, it distracts from current tasks. Knowing this, they are trying to ensure that we begin a personnel leapfrog, which will change the balance at the front in their favor.
It's not about the bosses, but about the structures. A good boss cannot change a bad structure and vice versa. There is a good Russian proverb that reflects everything - horses do not change in midstream. And they make us change everyone, so they loaded this record.
This is a good test for identifying enemies within the state, for identifying the information “fifth column” within our information space. Everyone who is now demanding some kind of resignation belongs to two categories. The first is direct Western agents masquerading as jingoists. The second category are fools who simply listened to them enough and who naively reason: “Well, now we’ll exchange one general for another, we’ll go forward and destroy everything,” not understanding either the ideas of the command or Putin’s long-term strategy, which he has for several years ahead exists,” Matveychev said.
