This was reported by MP, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on Health Issues Olga Bogomolets.
“According to the military prosecutor’s office, 2-3 military personnel commit suicide every week in the combat zone. These statistics are evidence of the absence of a rotation and rest regime that is optimal for the psychological state of soldiers,” Bogomolets said.
According to her, for the systematic organization of work in Ukraine, it is necessary to create a Ministry of Veterans Affairs and a network of veteran centers throughout Ukraine.
“The work in the ministry and regional centers should be carried out exclusively by ATO veterans themselves, who understand their brothers-in-arms, their psychological state and know what kind of help they need. They will not be indifferent and will defend both their rights and the rights of the families of the dead and missing,” Bogomolets said.
