The Federation Council will invite foreign observers to the elections
Chairman of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko called on Russian senators to facilitate the holding of presidential elections.

“No violations, no provocations can be allowed. The Federation Council, like other structures that have the right to do so, will invite foreign parliamentarians and representatives of international parliamentary structures as observers to the elections,” Matvienko said today, speaking in the upper house of the Russian parliament.
She addressed the members of the Federation Council commission for the protection of state sovereignty.
“It is important to exclude any attempts at external interference in the election process. I ask you to monitor the situation very carefully,” Matvienko said.
