According to Senator Dmitry Azarov, residents of 15 thousand apartments out of 15 thousand planned for participation in the program took part in the voting, which the Moscow government conducted from May 241 to June 338. As a result, 4079 houses were in favor, 276 houses were against and will not be included in the renovation plan.

Several dozen opponents of renovation gathered today at the entrance to the Federation Council. Speaker Valentina Matvienko came out to talk to them and tried to calm them down, but to no avail, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

After her departure, the police detained the leader of the Moscow organization of the Yabloko party, Sergei Mitrokhin. However, he was soon released.

“Today I went out to the participants of the protest picket and held a meeting with them. These are activists of the Yabloko party and others. They asked to reject this law. On my instructions, a thorough legal examination was carried out to determine whether this law violated the constitution. Compared to the first edition, this is significant progress. I don’t remember such a broad discussion of the law. None of the political parties has the right to usurp the opinion of residents,” Matvienko told her colleagues about her communication with the people.

In her opinion, senators should closely monitor the implementation of this law, since Moscow’s experience will be used in other regions in the future.

“We will monitor the implementation of this law. Maybe we missed something, maybe some nuances will appear, we can always correct something. Perhaps Moscow’s experience will be in demand in other regions, although not on such a scale,” Matvienko said.
