The Federation Council called on all parliaments of the world to condemn the United States
The Federation Council of the Russian Federation today called on the parliaments of all countries of the world to condemn the illegal actions of the United States in the Homs province in Syria.

“The Federation Council insists on a thorough investigation of all the circumstances of the US use of armed force against Syria on April 7. Aggressive actions of the United States should not remain without due assessment by the international community, as happened with the aggression against Iraq in 2003,” the statement adopted today says.
As the head of the international committee of the Federation Council, Konstantin Kosachev, noted, “this is an attempt, through the system of mutual responsibility, which has become a “tool of Western policy,” to remove itself from international legal jurisdiction.”
“The fact that no one was held accountable for the deception by senior US leaders in 2003 led to the events that have occurred in Syria today. The actual American leaders are manipulating public opinion, imposing their opinion about those responsible for the use of chemical weapons,” he noted. “The statement notes that “the information and propaganda campaign surrounding the events in Idlib province was aimed not only at bringing unfounded accusations against the legitimate authorities of Syria, but also at actually justifying subsequent US forceful actions against this sovereign state in violation of international law.”
“Moreover, US actions seriously undermine ongoing efforts to combat terrorism, especially ISIS, which is behind all the latest bloody terrorist attacks,” the document says.
Members of the Federation Council expressed sincere condolences to the families and friends of the victims of chemical poisoning in Idlib province and the US missile attack.
