Avakov's advisor boasted that there is less robbery in Ukraine than in Europe
In Ukraine, robberies occur much less frequently than in many European countries, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Advisor to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov, Sergei Knyazev, reported this on his Facebook page.
“I decided to prove Ukrainian realities to society. Thus, in 2017, there were 100 robberies per 42 thousand population. In 2018, this figure decreased to 32, and as of 10 months of 2019 there are 23 applications. Consequently, in comparison with European countries, Ukraine in the “security chain” is located next to such countries as Latvia (31), Denmark (36), Lithuania (38), Greece (40), Malta (44), Ireland (46), the Netherlands and Germany (47 each),” Knyazev wrote.
He also shared data on the regions of Ukraine.
“When calculating the number of crimes committed per 100 thousand population, the fewest robberies are observed in Ternopil (10), Ivano-Frankivsk (8), Donetsk (6), Chernivtsi (5) and Lugansk regions (3),” Knyazev wrote.
According to him, the capital (57 robberies) became the leader in the disappointing statistics. Also the least favorable for evening walks are Dnepropetrovsk (46), Odessa (40), Kharkov (32), Nikolaev (31), Kirovograd (29) regions.
The paradox of the low crime rate in the front-line Donetsk and Lugansk regions, according to Avakov’s adviser, is explained both by the presence there of a large number of police officers, National Guardsmen and military personnel, and by the lack of data on the real size of the population.
