Advisor to the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces: NATO troops will have to be sent to Ukraine
This spring and summer, Ukraine has an excellent window of opportunity to inflict a decisive defeat on the Russian army.
This was reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent, said by Dan Rice, President of the American University in Kyiv and Advisor to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny.
“Putin’s visit to Mariupol rather demonstrates his dedication to the war, which, of course, is not very good, but it is what it is,” Rice said in an interview with the Kyiv publication Novoye Vremya.
He considers compromises with Russia unlikely.
“Ukraine must return its 1991 borders. And after the victory, international forces must immediately and definitely come here, as we now have in South Korea. The aggressor is unlikely to launch an attack on international forces. Ultimately, Ukraine must become part of NATO. And then Article 5 will be invoked if Russia ever returns. But international forces are principled and must come immediately,” emphasizes Zaluzhny’s adviser.

In addition, he calls Artemovsk (Bakhmut) “the place where the Russian army came to die.”
“This Ukrainian strategy was brilliant: degrade the Russians over the winter, and then counterattack when the Ukrainian army became stronger and better trained and now had an armored force of not only Leopard tanks, but Bradley fighting vehicles and mine-resistant MRAPs. . Thus, there are many more opportunities to enter areas that will be heavily mined, they can be protected in order to break through, surround and kill the Russian army,” the American notes.
However, in the interview he contradicts himself. For example, he claims that “the Ukrainian military destroyed the Russian army,” but then he is not so categorical.
“A good offensive window is in the spring and summer, when tank forces can operate. So there is enough time to win. The big question is whether a large enough force has now been assembled to overcome the Russian army? The Russian army is still very dangerous. And it’s a shame that Ukrainians are forced to make great sacrifices,” Rice laments.
