Advisor to the head of the DPR: Ukraine will not fall apart
Ukraine will not fall apart. Only a change in the political elite can change the situation in the former Soviet republic.
This opinion was expressed on the radio “Moscow Speaks” by the Russian writer Zakhar Prilepin, adviser to the head of the DPR, as reported by the PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Ukraine will not fall apart. We ourselves must know this. We, who survived 1995, 1996 and all these other years, and the Caucasus campaign and everything else, the country can be absolutely poor, the president can be drunk, the government can consist of thieves, scoundrels, oligarchs and simply traitors to the country, but the country remains huge carcasses. Because the subject cannot, I repeat once again - 36 million of the population - disappear. It won't fall apart anywhere. And nothing will happen to this,” the writer said.
Prilepin emphasized that he does not see any prerequisites for the remaining regions to separate from Ukraine. “I don’t see any prerequisites for anything to fall off,” he said.
The writer spoke about his vision of what needs to happen for the situation in Ukraine to change.
“Only a change in the power paradigm, a change in the political establishment, only a change in the political matrix in Ukraine solves this problem,” he believes.
At the end he added an alternative scenario.
“Or a military invasion of Ukraine,” concluded Prilepin.
