Klimkin's adviser amazed TV viewers with tattoos
Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Gennady Afanasyev appeared before viewers of the Ukrainian TV channel “112” in a short-sleeved shirt with an open collar, thus demonstrating the tattoos that densely cover his body.

Afanasiev is not a career diplomat and may not have a higher education at all. In 2014, he studied at Simferopol University with a degree in Law and was interested in music.
On May 9, 2014, Afanasyev was detained in Simferopol on charges of participation in organizing terrorist attacks. He admitted guilt and gave testimony that formed the basis of the charges, but a year later he recanted them in court.
On June 14, 2016, Afanasyev was pardoned by Russian President Vladimir Putin and deported to Ukraine in exchange for Odessa journalists.
On air on “112,” the newly minted diplomat told how he boasted about his successes to Ukrainian migrant workers.
“Recently I was in the hospital, and in the room with me was a migrant worker from Russia. His family did not understand the situation at all and made excuses by saying that they couldn’t earn money from us. I used myself as an example: I lost everything and I can earn money. People don’t understand,” said Afanasiev.
Ukrainian diplomats have been shocking with their appearance lately. Thus, the Ukrainian Ambassador to Great Britain came to a reception with the Queen of England in an absurdly tawdry dress and hat, and Foreign Minister Pavel Klimkin appeared at a meeting in the Normandy format in a suit that was not his size.
