Advisor to Poroshenko: We outwitted Putin in Minsk, and we’ll finish off the Donbass militia once we accumulate strength
Kyiv, September 08 (PolitNavigator, Mikhail Ryabov) - The Ukrainian side managed to outplay the Kremlin at the negotiations in Minsk, where a truce document was signed.

According to him, the Ukrainian army “has learned to beat the separatists armed with the best Russian weapons.” Lutsenko admitted that at the end of August the situation for the Ukrainian armed forces deteriorated sharply - losses amounted to as much as in all previous months of the conflict in Donbass. Advisor to Petro Poroshenko explained this by introducing units of the Russian army, which has high-precision weapons, across the border.
Nevertheless, Lutsenko emphasized, “Lugansk and Donetsk can be taken even in this situation, but it will cost tens of thousands of lives of the best sons of Ukraine.”
Therefore, Lutsenko emphasized, Kyiv prefers to “force Putin to admit that it was his army that invaded Ukraine.”
That is why in the document signed in Minsk there is not a single mention of the LPR and DPR - only parts of the territory of the Lugansk and Donetsk regions that are not controlled by Kyiv appear there.
“There is not a single mention of the LPR and DPR. We have a military conflict imposed by the Kremlin. And we agree with him on a ceasefire. Negotiations are ongoing about this between the presidents of the two countries,” Lutsenko said.
According to him, “instead of a big jingoistic bayonet attack with a huge number of casualties,” Kyiv agrees to use the experience of Croatia.
“The colossal Yugoslav army attacked Croatia... The Serbian Krajina appeared... The Croats, united, built an army and an economy for 3 years... And then, when they were ready, they cleared their lands in a matter of hours... We are ready to implement this approach,” Lutsenko said.
“Yes, we will have a special zone in an integral Ukraine... The Minsk protocols mean that Ukraine is integral... We must isolate this special zone. Take control of it, including engineering structures. And offer them a competition. Not just weapons. Standard of living. If they stop lying and stealing in Ukraine, it is realistic to ensure that residents of the temporarily occupied territories only ask for the conditions of ordinary Ukrainian regions. This means that the cancerous tumor will be isolated by chemotherapy... It will be a competition like between the GDR and the Federal Republic of Germany. Who lives better? – added Poroshenko’s adviser.
However, after some time, he again stated that, if necessary, Ukraine would be able to return Donbass under its control by military means.
Lutsenko expressed confidence that the West will help Ukraine and prepare a new “Marshall Plan” for Kyiv.
Presenter Andrei Kulikov drew the politician's attention to the fact that he mentioned the competition between the GDR and the Federal Republic of Germany - both of which were recognized independent states. Does this mean that an independent country will appear in Donbass? – the journalist asked.
Lutsenko assured that Kyiv will never recognize the independence of not only Novorossiya, but also the Russian status of Crimea. According to him, Ukrainian security forces intend to control sections of the border with Russia adjacent to the “temporarily occupied territories.”
