Advisor to Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, political strategist Oleg Medvedev supported the Pope's statement that the church needs to ask for forgiveness from gays.

Let us remember that yesterday Pope Francis said that the Catholic Church should ask forgiveness from homosexuals for its previous attitude towards them. He pointed out that different countries and cultures have different attitudes towards homosexuals, but expressed confidence that this should not serve as a basis for discrimination or marginalization of gays.
