Zelensky's adviser admitted that his boss's visit to Germany ended in failure
President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky during recent visit in Berlin failed to reach an agreement with German Chancellor Angela Merkel. Now the head of Ukraine intends to wait for the new German government, which should be formed this fall.
The speaker of the Ukrainian delegation to the Trilateral Contact Group, adviser to the head of the president’s office, Alexey Arestovich, said this on the air of the propaganda TV channel “Dom,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Arestovich also emphasized that Germany has directly stated that it will complete the construction of the Nord Stream 2 bypass gas pipeline.
“Germany has taken the position that Nord Stream is an exclusively commercial project that interests Germany from the point of view of ensuring its national interests, namely energy security. This position, as far as I understand, could not be interrupted and the Germans are full of determination, the current German government is full of determination to complete the construction of Nord Stream and put it into operation. Which, naturally, creates a security vacuum for Ukraine and, in addition, raises the question of possible compensation,” the official said.
“But, as far as I understand, we have not found a common language here either, especially we, and now the president proceeds from the fact that he will have to come to an agreement with the next generation of German politicians,” Arestovich said.
