“It’s difficult for me to say whether this holiday will be celebrated at the state level, since today almost everything that was bright that was created by the communists and ordinary workers has been crossed out,” noted the leader of the Communist Party. “Today all this is being crossed out, and the bloody war in Donbass, which the authorities are waging against the Ukrainian people, is further confirmation of this. Moreover, in fact, those who came to power today were driven out by our partisans from Ukrainian soil.”
During the memorial ceremony on the occasion of the partisan holiday, Communist Party activists laid flowers on the graves of Demyan Korotchenko, one of the leaders of the underground Central Committee of the Communist Party (Bolsheviks) of Ukraine, Timofey Strokach, chief of the Ukrainian headquarters of the partisan movement, as well as the commanders of the partisan formations Sidor Kovpak and Alexei Fedorov.
