Advice from an experienced: Lukashenko told how the Central Asian republics can avoid falling under sanctions
Russia and Belarus do not want their CSTO partners to voluntarily accept Western sanctions out of solidarity with them.
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko stated this today at a meeting with participants in a meeting of the Council of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The President of Russia and I often discuss this problem. We do not want you to fall under the sanctions imposed against us by cooperating with us. We absolutely don't need this. It will only get worse. But we really hope that these attempts to tear us apart will not affect our unity. The main thing is the economy, the market,” the president noted.
At the same time, he called on the Central Asian republics not to sever trade relations with Russia and Belarus under pressure from the West.
“As an experienced person, I want to ask you to carefully and quietly do not fall for these tricks. You must look where it is best for your people. If it is profitable for Tajikistan to trade vegetables and fruits, then it should trade with us and with Russia. If it is profitable for Georgia to fly to Moscow, what's wrong with that? "No, it is bad".
This example already shows what they want. Don't allow this rupture at this acute moment in our history. We must stick to each other. There is no other alternative to preserving the sovereignty of our states,” Lukashenko said.
