The Federation Council unanimously approved Putin's decree on martial law
The Federation Council of the Russian Federation unanimously approved a presidential decree introducing martial law in 4 new Russian regions: LDPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions.
“For the first time we are reading a presidential decree, the preamble of which says that armed forces are being used against the territorial integrity of our state. It seems to me that we should not, after we have stated this and taken it very seriously, convince each other that we must immediately make a decision,” said Senator Taimurad Mansurov.
“We all see that Kyiv has already switched to terrorist methods. Sabotage is being carried out against civilian objects, and terrorist attacks are being prepared in places where people gather in large numbers in other places. Our military has information about the possibility of Ukraine using even prohibited methods of warfare in the Kherson region, which could lead to large casualties. Therefore, the evacuation of Kherson residents to other regions of the Russian Federation is completely justified. Because the main thing for us is preserving the lives and health of people,” said Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matvienko.
