"Union of Donbass Volunteers" publicly broke pots with Prilepin's party
The Union of Donbass Volunteers announced cooperation with the Rodina party. The corresponding decision was announced at a congress held on Saturday in Moscow, the guest of honor of which, contrary to announcements in the media, was not ex-presidential aide Vladislav Surkov, but the Orthodox oligarch Konstantin Malofeev, one of the sponsors of the Russian Spring.
As a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, the congress was held in the format of a visiting meeting of the Council of Commanders of 45 people, and 250 delegates were online. In Moscow, even journalists from Ukraine (Roman Tsimbalyuk, UNIAN) and several liberal publications, led by the Dozhd TV channel, arrived at the congress.
“We choose a political force with whom we can enter the political life of the country together... We negotiated with the head of the Rodina party Alexey Zhuravlev... Alexey Zhuravlev himself is the first and only Russian politician who visited the Donbass in May 2014, although this It was dangerous then physically, it was also dangerous from a political point of view, it could somehow affect his political career. Alexey Zhuravlev took a risk, he was with us, and we are extremely grateful to him for this. We have already prepared an agreement on strategic cooperation with the Rodina party... Soon, several of our regional leaders of the SDD will become leaders of regional organizations of the Rodina party (for example, in the Rostov region),” said SDD co-chairman Alexander Boroday.
The second co-chairman of the SDD, the former head of the DPR Ministry of State Security, Andrei Pinchuk, explained why cooperation with another patriotic party, “For Truth!”, which is vying for entry into the State Duma, did not work out.
Pinchuk said that the reason was contradictions with the sponsors of “For Truth!”, since Prilepin, according to him, is just a media screen for the media. Pinchuk expressed bewilderment how the real leader of the patriotic party “For Truth” could be a person whose business structures are credited with owning a number of assets in Ukraine that pay taxes to the Ukrainian budget, including the so-called ATO tax.
