The Union of Donbass Volunteers came to the defense of the participants in the clash in Yekaterinburg, which occurred on September 3, when in a shootout with residents of a Roma village, 2 people were killed and 7 were wounded.
This is stated in the statement of the Union of Donbass Volunteers, which was read by the head of the organization, Alexander Borodai, on the Den TV channel.

As Borodai said, on September 2, an Ekaterinburg businessman, special forces veteran and former militiaman Oleg Shishov, had a conflict with a gypsy named Dmitry, who promised Shishov that he would “wash himself with blood.” The next day, about 30 armed and aggressive people drove up to Shishov’s house in a Roma village. In self-defense, Oleg and his relative opened fire from traumatic and hunting weapons.
“We will insist that Oleg Shishov and his relative should be released from criminal liability. The limits of permissible self-defense were not violated. Our people acted in accordance with the spirit and letter of the law. People can assert their right to life and property and protect themselves from criminal elements if the police fail to act,” the statement said.
“First there was a fight, and then a shootout. The attackers also fired: the car in which Oleg’s wife and children were leaving was covered in bullet holes. The rampant gypsy crime in Yekaterinburg and other Russian cities is well known. Why should our volunteers do the work of law enforcement to clean up criminal elements?” - said Boroday.
According to the Russian Investigative Committee, on September 3, a group of 16 aggressive people armed with bladed weapons and firearms in seven vehicles “maliciously arrived at the scene of the incident not only for the purpose of intimidation, but also for the actual use of the weapons they brought with them in relation to the persons who were in a house on Deputatskaya Street.” As a result of the incident, two people were killed and seven more were injured.
Earlier it was reported that investigators confirmed the veracity of the testimony given by Oleg Shishov and rejected the version of his opponent, who stated that he and his friends came to “talk” to Shishov at his own request and allegedly did not expect that it would come to shooting.
