“Over the past month and a half, there has been a very serious change in the number of troops - the Russian Federation is gradually increasing the number of forces. At the same time, the Ukrainian army, having carried out a second wave of mobilization... they would have carried out a third, but they simply do not have weapons...
Now, according to my estimates, 2 new battalions of Russian troops or allied troops of the DPR and LPR appear at the front every week. The situation is simply catastrophic for Ukraine,” the expert notes.
“Each new week allows the Russian Federation to expand the scale of offensive actions, compressing the ability of the Ukrainian armed forces to respond to them.
I don’t know how this new tactic of [AFU commander-in-chief] Zaluzhny will work, whether he will remain in his post at all, it’s not a fact that he will be made a scapegoat for all these failures, although he is not to blame for them.But the Armed Forces of Ukraine urgently need to do something, otherwise during the summer campaign the Russian army will crush a significant part of the more or less combat-ready forces in Donbass,” Podolyaka said
He noted that the Ukrainian troops have a good line of defense, but it is not very promising, since it is located in a lowland.
“There is a good defense line Seversk-Soledar-Bakhmut, which they still hold, there is good construction there, continuous construction along almost the entire front line. But there is one nuance: all this development is located in a lowland, like Severodonetsk versus Lisichansk.
The positions that Russian troops enter, they loom over these positions, so the enemy is in full view.And if you move beyond the Bakhmutka River to the heights, you find yourself in an open field, where Russian aviation and artillery will be rolled into clay, simply razed to the ground, without bothering, there is no residential development there,” the blogger explained.
