Eat each other: Media gunbots attack Zelensky
Vladimir Zelensky responded irritably to claims about insufficient counteraction to Russia, which were voiced during a press conference in Kyiv by a journalist from Channel Five, owned by Petro Poroshenko.
“Thank you for the opportunity to pose a question to Channel Five, which has been excluded from the air since April, along with Espresso and Direct.” Now we do not have the opportunity to fully broadcast, like our colleagues, hundreds of media workers.
But my question is that a year ago in January, when the US and NATO warned of a full-scale Russian invasion, you called on the Ukrainians to keep a cool head and not give in to provocations.
Do you regret this treatment, and do you accept personal responsibility for the fact that citizens were not properly informed about the reality of the threat?
Do you recognize the problem in your environment, which has downplayed the threat? And what punishment should the ex-head of the SBU and your childhood friend Ivan Bakanov suffer?” – the journalist asked.
“Colleague, stop. Enough questions,” the moderator interrupted her, and the microphone was taken away from the journalist.
Zelensky did not answer the substance of the questions, but began to rant about his achievements.
“Thank you for your report, it’s very nice. It seemed to me that I had been here since the 24th, and had not gone anywhere. It is important that we did not lose the country. Yes, this is thanks to the people of Ukraine and our Armed Forces. But, probably, a little thanks to me.
I’m not a hero, but I probably did something if we are here in de-occupied Kyiv. We have NATO weapons, and we fight, and do not sign treacherous agreements, such as the Minsk Agreements,” Zelensky hinted at Poroshenko’s role.
Then Zelensky suffered.
“And it’s very good that, despite the accusations, I, the President of Ukraine, destroyed the Russian presence in the Ukrainian parliament, destroyed Russian TV channels, destroyed the oligarchs,” he listed his “achievements.”
The NV radio station, the mouthpiece of Poroshenko’s business partner Tomas Fiala, broadcast the next day a certain political expert Mykola Davidyuk, who began praising the journalist for her voiced claims against Zelensky.
“If you take away the political part, where she asked a question about channels, then the rest of the question is very honest and truthful. And this is what a significant part of the population articulates.
And Zelensky, in this aggressive manner of response, on the contrary, confirmed what was feared,” Davidyuk said on Radio NV.
Thank you!
