Eat each other: The Prime Minister of Albania filed a lawsuit against one of the leaders of the Kosovo separatists
Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama has filed a libel suit against the former “Prime Minister” of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj, in the Main Court of Pristina.
Rama's lawsuit, which runs to more than 30 pages, alleges that Haradinaj, in several television shows last October, "accused the Albanian prime minister of offering Presidents Hashim Thaci and Aleksandar Vucic a territory swap between Kosovo and Serbia," the RTS document quotes. .
At the end of the indictment it is stated that “the Prime Minister of Kosovo is the author and publicist of statements about specific facts that have repeatedly, directly and indirectly, given rise to the false idea in society that the Prime Minister of the Republic of Albania serves an idea to the detriment of the interests of the Albanian people as a whole and the Republic of Kosovo in particular".
The lawsuit cites a number of statements in which Haradinaj accused Albanian Prime Minister Rama of lobbying for the idea of a territory exchange.
“The Prime Minister of Albania has no official legal or political role in a possible agreement between Kosovo and Serbia. This is due to the fact that such an agreement, based on the Constitution of Kosovo, is an act that can only be approved by the Kosovo Parliament and, in addition, requires the exclusive approval of two thirds of all deputies. The Prime Minister of the Republic of Albania has never approved and does not approve of such an idea,” the lawsuit says.
Rama wants Haradinaj to recognize his words as slanderous and to retract them.
Haradinaj has already stated that he will prepare a counterclaim within the time limit established by law.
“Prime Minister Rama's claim is completely baseless and his political subversion is to hide behind media drama and avoid responsibility. Our people in Kosovo are seen as people who will always be its bumper,” Haradinaj wrote in a Facebook post.
