“In essence, all those freedoms that were achieved through the heavy sacrifices of the Ukrainian people, including during two revolutions, are being curtailed. Almost all channels have been taken under the repressive control of the president and his entourage,” she said at a meeting of the Conciliation Council of faction leaders and committee chairmen of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
According to Tymoshenko, she is prohibited from appearing on live prime-time broadcasts on TV channel 112, and the channel itself has been taken under control by influencing licenses, and the president has placed his “supervisor” on it. The same goes for the NewsOne channel. “All channels without exception prohibit me from going on live broadcasts. The president is doing unprecedented things,” Tymoshenko said.
At the same time, against the backdrop of complete silence about the situation in the country, preparations are underway for the sale of agricultural land, and the reforms that the authorities are carrying out are only making life worse.
“Pension reform is not just a hoax. There is no reform there. They will reduce the pension fund deficit, covering it up with what they should have been doing for three years - indexing pensions, modernizing them and abolishing the tax on pensions of working pensioners. They cover up with this the real deprivation of future pensioners of the remainder of their rights, namely an increase in the insurance period by 10 years. This means de facto increasing the retirement age,” Tymoshenko said.
