Serving Petro Poroshenko on the eve of the election, the editor-in-chief of the once authoritative Ukrainian publication “League,” Boris Davidenko, came out with a programmatic article in which he convinced that wages in Ukraine are growing at an unprecedented pace, inflation is minimal, and rising prices do not bother the population, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Most Ukrainians are confused about economic indicators, thinking that they are many times worse than reality. For example: rising prices are the number one problem in the opinion of Ukrainians, while the National Bank reports the minimum inflation in five years; people believe that every third compatriot is unemployed, but in practice every tenth; the real average salary is much higher than before the crisis, and Ukrainians are sure that they are getting poorer from year to year - etc.,” writes Davidenko.

His theses were exposed by TV presenter Alexander Dubinsky, who works on the “1+1” channel of oligarch Igor Kolomoisky.

Dubinsky assures that the gunpowderbot’s article is false and cites his data, according to which in recent years the population of Ukraine has become impoverished several times.

“I would not have paid attention to this masterpiece by Bori (in full accordance with the style of the gunpowder robots), if not for the enthusiastic reposts of friends. Which, in fact, are the same “rams” from Borya’s column who don’t believe how good it is to live because of distorted information.

Because the essence of this column is that very distortion. For example, the quote: “the real average salary is much higher than before the crisis, and Ukrainians are sure that they are getting poorer from year to year - etc.,” writes Borya. And then he lies, because the average salary is higher - exclusively mathematically, in hryvnias. And if we consider its purchasing power, it is significantly lower.

The average salary in Ukraine in November 2018 is 9161 UAH or 329,5 dollars at the rate of 27,8 UAH/$. The average salary in Ukraine in November 2013 is 3268 UAH or 409 dollars at the rate of 7,99 UAH/$. That is, in dollar terms, Ukrainians began to earn about $80 less than before Borya’s crisis,” writes Dubinsky.

He also notes that in recent years, tariffs have increased significantly in the country, and GDP has fallen: “And this does not take into account the growth of tariffs, which have significantly increased the share of utility bills in the average salary. And without taking into account tax deductions from the “minimum wage”, which has also increased significantly. For comparison, a cubic meter of gas in November 13 cost the population an average of 0,93 UAH per 1 cubic meter. m. Now it costs 8,55 UAH. for 1 cubic m. If we compare how much it cost to pay for an apartment in 2013 and 2018 during the heating season, then the increase is more than 6 times. GDP in 2013 was approximately $183 billion. By the end of 2018 there will be about 115.”
