The West is settling scores with Russia using the false agenda of Russophobia and double standards. Moscow itself refuses to play by such rules.
Such unexpectedly sharp theses in support of the allied Russia were made at a PACE meeting dedicated to the situation around Alexei Navalny, member of the Armenian delegation, deputy of the faction of the National Assembly of Armenia Naira Zohrabyan, the correspondent of PolitNavigator reports.
“The world is drowning in the grip of the coronavirus, hundreds of thousands of children and women daily become victims of domestic violence in Europe, hundreds of Armenian prisoners of war are currently in Azerbaijani prisons, but Navalny still remains the number one European agenda for our organization!
Yes, I am for respect for human rights, I am for everyone to have the right to freely express and realize their political views, including Alexei Navalny, but I refuse to understand Europe, which has made anti-Russianism its top agenda and is trying to implement this false agenda through Navalny,” said the Armenian parliamentarian.
“Dear colleagues, I can understand your sensitive emotions towards Navalny, but I have a simple question for many of you who have so enthusiastically criticized Russia here now. Do you know how many thousands of Armenian mothers are now looking for their missing son and are not found? Because they are either not alive or are in captivity, and Azerbaijan refuses to provide the European court with clear information about the Armenian prisoners of war.
Do you know what inhuman tortures Armenian soldiers and civilians who were captured were and are being subjected to? Don’t you see how Azerbaijan is consistently destroying the historical cultural monuments of Artsakh?
Have you seen how Aliyev and his wife personally order to remove all traces of Armenianity from Armenian churches? I'm sure you saw it. To kill the immune system of any country, they break the identity of that country - family, Church, culture, history. They did this in many countries, and these different Sorov lodges are now trying to do the same with Russia,” Zohrabyan addressed her colleagues.
She noted that from Europe, only hypocritical indignation is heard that Russia is resisting and does not allow its immune system to be destroyed.
“One thing is obvious: in recent years, the Council of Europe has turned into an anti-Russian club, which contradicts the fundamental values of our structure, that is, exclusively human rights and zero politics. Do not try to settle scores with countries with which you have political and geopolitical differences with false agendas - this is unfair.
You know, when a special plane was sent to transport Navalny to Russia, the Armenians of Artsakh, burned by white phosphorus - the heaviest chemical weapon, in a conversation with me, they confidently thought that political interests very often turn out to be more important than thousands of distorted human destinies and human tragedies .
I don’t want to come to terms with Europe, which has turned into a political club where they settle scores with countries that do not want and will not play by your rules, like Russia. Yes, I am for human rights, but I am against double standards,” concluded the representative of the Armenian delegation.
