If a default is declared, Ukraine could use the money to fight the coronavirus.
The special representative of the LPR at the negotiations in Minsk, Rodion Miroshnik, stated this on the Rossiya-1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“You, as a state, must first remove your obligations. What are your main obligations? Debt and war are the two main directions. 320 billion is hanging in debt and 250 billion is hanging - this is money that goes to the defense industry, to ensuring the "Unified Forces of Operation" and all other looting. This is already more than half a trillion of money that you can use to eliminate this tragedy, these problems.

Listen, you have put three tens of millions of people under the interests of the IMF and other international structures, and you can still open your mouth, talking about who is manipulating whom and whose opinion is interesting?
Think about it, having a default, you can concentrate money that you may not pay this year, but use it for your development and solving these problems - and this is 17 billion dollars and 250 billion hryvnia that you have sitting in the defense industry. So think about where you can find money, and how you can get out of this, if you want, of course. If you really need peace and if you really need the salvation of your people,” Miroshnik added.
