Colonel of the Central Apparatus of the RF Ministry of Defense in reserve Vladimir Trukhan stated this on air on the YouTube channel “Politwera”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.
"We really are their (Armed Forces of Ukraine and National Battalions – ed.) were ahead by a very short time, because? if you remember, the group in Donbass was in an offensive configuration, ready to attack. Secondly, the shelling began to increase, and it was clear that there would be bombing any day now. We just forgot now, we received a stimulus that significantly exceeded the threshold value of perception, and remember - a week before the 23rd, in what tension we were sitting. Does Putin recognize the DPR or not?
The evacuation of citizens began for a reason. It would turn out that we would still have to answer anyway. But to respond in a military-political and operational-tactical situation that is unfavorable for oneself. It would already be unprofitable, bombs would already be falling, all this would already have happened, they would have already been transferred to the highest level of combat readiness, because before the start of a mass operation in the Donbass, they would have been transferred to the highest level of combat readiness,” the expert said.
According to him, the decision made by the Russian leadership, to put it mildly, took the Ukrainian side by surprise.
“What is this about the air defense troops? These are full combat crews - they are sitting everywhere. We found them with their pants down, where the crews were sitting in third and fourth readiness. That is, we were in fact ahead of them, we hit them ahead of the curve. Nobody listened to Putin when he said that war is inevitable, strike first. That’s it,” explained Trukhan.
