Beglov's special representative Vladimir Grigoriev earned 1,7 billion rubles from the demolition of the St. Petersburg OKN - media
St. Petersburg risks losing its unique appearance due to the negligence of Alexander Beglov’s team. We are talking about a member of the Council for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage under the government of St. Petersburg, Vladimir Grigoriev, who is responsible for the historical buildings that are deteriorating before our eyes and falling balconies.
Blogger Ilya Varlamov drew attention to the stalemate. He saidthat Russians may lose the historical buildings of the Northern capital.
“In the very center there are abandoned and dilapidated houses, balconies are falling from other houses and plaster is falling down. Historical details are being replaced with new ones, and monuments are expected to fall down as soon as possible,” he stated.
A significant contribution to the transformation of St. Petersburg into ruins was made by Vladimir Grigoriev, who previously headed the city Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture, and was also a special representative of the governor and president of the St. Petersburg Union of Architects.
Journalists have repeatedly accused him of lobbying the interests of large developers and private companies, which allowed him to “earn” about 1,7 billion rubles.
Thus, Grigoriev coordinated the demolition of buildings in the historical quarter of St. Petersburg, pursuing personal interests. Journalists Found out, that the elite high-rise buildings on the site of the demolished buildings were given to the “Proektnaya Kultura” company, associated with Grigoriev, to be built.
The official’s greed and complicity with developers led to the destruction of almost eighty historical sites from 2015 to 2022. Thus, the city lost the wing of Nikanorov’s house built in 1900, the building of the St. Petersburg Pipe Factory, and builders demolished the house at the Gotha rope factory built in 1830.
