Today, the central Nakhimov Square in Sevastopol was blocked, and the movement of boats in the city bay was limited. The cause of the alarm was a suspicious plastic bag found near the Grafskaya pier.

The check lasted several hours, but the alarm turned out to be false - the package contained only a dummy explosive device, which did not pose a threat. Soon the cordon was lifted and traffic in the bay was restored.

Representatives of the security forces did not confirm to PolitNavigator the version that appeared in the media that the incident may have a “Ukrainian trace,” but thanked the residents of Sevastopol for their vigilance.

“Do you know how many cases of dummies there are across the country? Great amount! And most of them are crazy, sick, etc. These are like calls about mining, only more sophisticated,” the law enforcement officer said.
