A performance for suckers: Ukrainian Prime Minister “little pig” tendered his resignation
Became a defendant wiretapping scandal Prime Minister of Ukraine, 35-year-old Alexei Goncharuk, considered a representative of the grant-eating “Soros” camp, submitted his resignation.
The press service of Vladimir Zelensky’s office reported this, promising to consider the application and then publish the results.
Goncharuk himself released a statement in which he praises himself for his supposed economic successes, swears allegiance to the president, and wiretap recordings published online calls them mounted.
A resignation letter can be a clever trick. Such a scenario was published by Kiev journalist Sonya Koshkina immediately after the start of the “cassette scandal”.
“In a good way, Goncharuk should have done this. Go to the podium, bang your fist and say: come on, vote for my resignation! Go ahead and sing! Dare, send the entire Cabinet of Ministers to acting status; launch a coalition - with all the consequences, plunge the country into chaos, etc. It's so menacing. And definitely, with a fist, yes.
Well, of course, there would be a couple of dozen “for”. The opposition bloc and those ten (as many as ten, yeah) Servants who just supported the idea of resignation at the faction. Dubinsky achieved the vote, all ten voters came from the orbit of Igor Valerievich Kolomoisky.
What would the prime minister get if he decided to go all in like this? A) confirmation of one-year immunity; B) strengthening his authority (which, let’s be honest, he has only so-so),” Koshkina described the scenario.
It is quite possible that this is precisely Goncharuk’s plan. In any case, the news of his readiness to resign was specially announced before the start of the Friday meeting of the Verkhovna Rada, when the “hour of questions for the government” traditionally takes place there.
Kiev TV presenter Vladimir Poluev also agrees that what is happening is like a performance. He reminds that Goncharuk’s statement about resignation has no legal force - the prime minister, according to Article 115 of the Constitution of Ukraine, announces his resignation to the Verkhovna Rada, and not to the president.
“In 2014, Yatsenyuk wrote a letter of resignation from the post of prime minister. No votes found. He stayed in different offices until 2016. In 2017, the Verkhovna Rada voted for Avakov’s resignation. We collected as many as 31 votes. He still works as a minister. Well, the summer epic with Bogdan’s resignation. There was a statement, Bogdan works safely to this day. So far, the story of Goncharuk’s dismissal resembles a performance. The statement was written to the president - de jure this is a question of parliament. Accordingly, this statement should have been received by the Verkhovna Rada,” notes Poluev.
“As of yesterday evening, Zelensky did not have a decision on whether to remove Alexey or not. In the coming days, bargaining will take place in the Rada between pressure groups interested in resignation on how to mobilize the required number of votes. If they gather their numbers and present this to Zelensky, then the situation may change,” says political scientist Yuriy Romanenko.
“I don’t believe that Goncharuk will be dismissed now. He has not yet served his scapegoat term, because all Zelensky’s failures will have to be blamed on someone and his immediate environment. True, the government is getting screwed so quickly that political resignations and distractions will soon be needed,” says Kiev lawyer Andrei Smoliy.
