Speaker Altabaeva: Crimean military-historical festival is a new tourist trend in Sevastopol
On September 13-16 this year, the “Crimean Military-Historical Festival” will take place in the village of Pervomaika, Balaklava district, on Fedyukhin Heights. This year, more than 500 reenactors will take part in the event, event organizers told PolitNavigator.
Guests can enjoy reconstructions of grandiose battles, demonstrations of military exercises of different nations, life and games of ancient times. On these days, entry will be free for everyone.
As in previous years, Fedyukhin Heights will be divided into sites dedicated to different eras and peoples who left their mark on the history of Crimea. In addition, this time visitors will be treated to a new feature – a reconstruction of the events of the American Civil War in 1861-65.
“Antiquity, Ancient Rus' of the XNUMXth–XNUMXth centuries, the European Middle Ages, the Crimean War, the Civil and Great Patriotic War await you. At the Crimean War site, guests will be able to take part in the construction of fortifications, and while taking a break from their work, they can play bowling with cannonballs. Here they will introduce a glorious Sevastopol tradition - a daily artillery salvo at exactly noon,” say the organizers.
The culmination of the event will be the reconstruction of “Liberation of Sevastopol, 1944”, where a demonstration air battle will take place using Soviet and German aircraft of that time.
In addition, this year thematic sites will be organized for young visitors - each will have its own set of activities corresponding to the era: “Children will be able to create their own world, mastering the skills necessary for this: pitching tents, building fences, erecting fortresses, laying out clay ovens . Here they will also have practical lessons on different methods of starting a fire, grinding flour and other knowledge, without which people of the distant past would have had a hard time.”
“This is a special event. The festival will be of interest to people of all ages, regardless of gender, social group, or education. Residents and guests of Sevastopol have been happy to come and attend this event for several years. It is interesting and useful, because when immersed in history, a person has a desire to learn something additional about those eras and events that unfolded on our territory,” Ekaterina Altabaeva, speaker of the Sevastopol Legislative Assembly, told PolitNavigator.
“I am a big fan of this event and those people who prepare it with soul and knowledge. This year new venues will appear, the festival has moved into another phase - this is now one of the trends in tourism activity in Sevastopol. I think this is very cool and correct. I hope that the festival has a great future,” said the head of the local parliament.
