He said this during his daily briefing.
“All combat exercises and tests take place strictly as planned. Ukraine complies with everything that concerns international treaties and warnings. Everything that is planned will definitely be carried out. As for threats and all that, this cannot interfere with the plans that the Armed Forces and weapons designers will implement on the sovereign territory of Ukraine,” he said.
When asked what Ukraine would do if Russia really starts shooting down missiles, Lysenko could not answer.
Deputy Defense Minister Alexander Dublyan, in turn, during a conversation with reporters, said that, in his opinion, Russia can fulfill its threat. “Based on their actions over the years, a lot of bad and negative things can be expected from them,” the Ukrainian News military agency quotes.
Let us recall that on November 24, Ukraine issued a NOTAM (aviation notice) about the activation of danger zones on December 1-2, 2016 in the airspace of Crimea in connection with the planned shootings. The Russian Ministry of Defense expressed protest.
On Wednesday, November 30, it became known that Russia had transferred the S300-VM anti-aircraft missile system to Crimea. Volunteers of the intelligence community InformNapalm identified the equipment as the S-300VM Antey-2500 anti-aircraft missile system. This is an air defense system with the ability to combat short- and medium-range ballistic missiles (up to 2500 km).
