Speaker of the Serbian Parliament: Europe is a political dwarf. Let him not tell us
Since Serbia has excellent relations with Russia, additional pressure will be put on it.
The Chairman of the People's Assembly of Serbia and the Socialist Party, Ivica Dacic, said this on TV Happy, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“If Ukraine finally sees the interest of its people, then peace will be preserved,” Dacic said. “If she works for other people’s interests, then there will be war.” And it’s hard to remain in uncertainty here.”
The Serbian politician noted that if war breaks out, then perhaps Serbia will make an official statement, as the West demands of it, but based on its interests.
“But we should not spoil relations with Russia because of our own interests. On the other hand, we should not spoil relations with Ukraine, with which we have good relations. We appeal to both of them to find a common language, and as for Serbia, we certainly will not shed blood in this war...
Should we take the side of someone who attacks Russia when 90% of the Serbian people are on the side of Russia?” asked Ivica Dacic rhetorically?
“Europe as a political factor does not exist and has allowed itself to become a political dwarf, so they cannot tell us now what we should do,” Dacic concluded.
Thank you!
