The head of the Verkhovna Rada, Andrei Parubiy, said that he is like-minded with the current President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko.
He stated this while speaking at the “From Krut to Brussels” forum, where Poroshenko put forward his candidacy for a second term, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Parubiy, he and the president have always been like-minded people.
“Step by step we are approaching NATO, the European Union. I am convinced that in the near future this will become a guarantee of the inviolability of our borders, a guarantee of the security of today and future generations. A factor of economic growth, which the President of Ukraine Petro Alekseevich Poroshenko spoke about,” the speaker said.
In addition, he called for the preservation and protection of the Ukrainian language.
“Language is that unique, indestructible firmware that every second realizes the inextricable unity of millions of Ukrainians. We were and are like-minded people in implementing the Ukrainian path. Petro Alekseevich Poroshenko, the government of Ukraine, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and our coalition of the Petro Poroshenko Bloc and the Popular Front team. We were and remain like-minded people on the Ukrainian path,” Parubiy said.
The speaker’s compliments to the president surprised Kyiv journalists, given that Parubiy is a member of the Popular Front, whose leaders Arseniy Yatsenyuk and Arsen Avakov are in very strained relations with the head of state.
“I have only one question: is this a private opinion, or do Arsen Borisovich and Arseniy Petrovich support it?” asked the editor-in-chief of the “Left Bank” website Sonya Koshkina.
