Crimea dispute: Time to move from defense to attack
Exactly 20 years ago, on March 17, 1995, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted a resolution that liquidated the institution of the President of Crimea. This happened contrary to all international standards and today can serve as one of the evidence of the illegality of the peninsula being part of Ukraine, of gross neglect of the rights of Crimeans by Kiev.
The Crimean President was elected on the basis of the Constitution and the Law “On the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan”. The elections were exemplary and recognized by the entire world community. In the early 90s, Simferopol immediately established diplomatic relations with European countries, the USA, Canada, etc.
Kiev had no legal grounds to abolish the post of president of the Crimean Republic by force. Crimean laws that were in force then on the peninsula did not allow Ukraine to do this. An agreement on the delimitation of powers was concluded between Kiev and Simferopol.
As a result, the Ukrainian authorities carried out a classic coup d'etat by force of arms. I already said then that the Kiev government would hit the back of its own head with the boomerang of lawlessness launched on March 17, 1995.
So, the Ukrainian Rada decided to prosecute me for “exceeding authority” without deciphering the charges. “Tanks forward!” – that was the whole argument.
The entry of Ukrainian troops took place. Special forces captured the building of the Supreme Council. Machine guns on the floors. Special forces burst into my office and demanded that the guards hand over their weapons. The guys from Berkut protected me. 12 people. They refused to hand over the weapons. They threatened to shoot me. Only after my third order did they surrender their weapons. One never passed. The capture was commanded by the Minister of Internal Affairs Kirichenko. Ironically, he is the son of a well-known and respected secretary of the Crimean Regional Committee of the CPSU in Crimea. Military units blocked the road to Kerch in three places. They expected me to leave for Russia through Kerch. According to the plan of SBU chief Marchuk, I was supposed to simply disappear along this path. But I stayed in the office. They tried to smoke me out for a month. Then they poisoned me and took me to a barracks at the infectious diseases hospital, where I died. Doctors brought him out of a state of clinical death, despite the ban on providing assistance. Then - to the Black Sea Fleet hospital and on an Air Force plane to Moscow.
Kyiv was then helped by civil strife in Simferopol - the confrontation between the Crimean parliament and the president. This became the reason for the confusion of the Crimeans - our president and our deputies (more than 80% of the seats are the “Russia” bloc) - what are they dividing? According to the confession subsequently published in the newspaper of Marchuk’s wife, he recruited the entire top of the Supreme Council. At the same time, Kuchma turned to the EBN. By the way, their wives were close friends from a young age. And over a glass of vodka, Yeltsin allowed Kuchma to destroy both the Republic of Crimea and the President!
The West was more than happy with the situation when the Ukrainian army interrupted the movement of Crimea to Russia. That is why from there we have never heard any condemnation of Ukraine’s lawlessness from the point of view of international law. Her actions suited the West.
However, why is today's date important?
The destruction of the Republic of Crimea and the President is the beginning of the real occupation of Crimea. A powerful argument that allows you to convincingly prove the fact of the seizure of Crimea by force of arms. Kyiv was the first to commit a flagrant violation of the Budapest Memorandum!
In the fight over Crimea, not using this argument is simply criminal. This is the most significant proof of the legality of Russia’s actions towards the people of Crimea, who became victims of occupation in 1995!
The result of our actions should be recognition of the fact of occupation of Crimea and payment of compensation. This is a worldwide practice. And first, it is necessary to adopt the Russian Federation Law “On victims of political repression during the occupation of Crimea by Ukraine.”
The sad date of 1995 will be replaced by a holiday tomorrow. All these years we have fought for our Motherland. Russia. And sooner or later our liberation movement would certainly have won. After being deported by the Ukrainian authorities, I declared that I would return to Crimea, alive or dead. Glory to the Lord, President Putin, the Special Operations Forces and our people - ALIVE!
