“I took the initiative that by September 17 we would accept a statement from five parliaments - the three Baltic countries, Poland and Ukraine - and name who was responsible for this tragedy. Both Moscow imperialism and Nazi imperialism, which led to tragedies on our lands. We must give a general assessment of our events,” Parubiy said at a meeting of the Ukrainian parliament.
Parubiy believes that Ukraine and Poland will be able to come to a common position in assessing the Volyn massacre.
“I am confident that we will resolve all the confrontations that have existed between us. I am confident that we will stand shoulder to shoulder with our Polish brothers in the confrontation with Moscow imperialism,” added the Ukrainian speaker.
Let us recall that on July 22, 2016, the Sejm of Poland recognized the Volyn massacre as genocide, and also established July 11 as the National Day of Remembrance for the victims of the genocide committed by Ukrainian nationalists against citizens of the Second Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth.
