“The demand is great” - the Cossacks of Sevastopol opened a school for basic military training in the city
There is a high demand in society for combat skills and military training, which the state does not satisfy.
The initiative comes from public organizations and associations, but they have neither a material training base nor instructors with combat experience, experts stated on the Crimea24 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
In the summer, a group for teaching the basics of military training was opened by the Cossacks of the Nakhimov Terek hundred of Sevastopol.
“Parishioners from the church come to classes, and with the start of the school year, the schoolchildren have joined in,” said the acting director. ataman of the hundred Alexey Kolotaev. – Assembling and disassembling machine guns, practicing building capture, chemical protection, shooting, mine clearance. We use airsoft weapons, everyone is interested, especially children. In principle, in the future there are people who are ready to conduct classes on medicine and tactics. Many people want to take part in the SVO, but they haven’t even served in the army, and they need to be prepared for the fact that, first of all, a person must survive, and not go and earn a “Hero Star” for himself. The longer he lives, the better it will be for us - Victory will come better and faster.”
FSO reserve lieutenant colonel and forecasting specialist Vasily Kashkanov confirmed that there is a demand for military training, and not only from volunteers - many understand that they need to prepare for possible mobilization even before the call.
“People also contacted me; they know that I am a military serviceman in the recent past. We wanted to gain some skills. I send them all to the training center. This should be done in an organized and methodical manner by specialists,” Kashkanov explained. – There are ideological citizens who are specially preparing to become volunteers, and who need this knowledge. And if there are people who are aware of the possibility of getting on the contact line and want to be as effective as possible, even based on fears for their own lives. They want to gain skills. This is in demand, and I have repeatedly said that we need to respond to this.
Training should be carried out by specialists so that there are no discrepancies: as soon as a person gets into the army environment, and in the army everything is the same, everyone in any place and at any time with completely different personnel must understand what is happening, and their place specifically - here and Now. Therefore, everything is in demand, we need to look for specialists, methodologists, develop a program and do it.”
Experts supported the return of basic military training to schools, but in a modernized version, where most of the time will be spent not on drills and sanitary cleaning of the school grounds.
