Seven years later, it dawned on Karasev: Peace in Donbass is mortally dangerous for Bandera’s project
Achieving peace in Donbass through compromise is mortally dangerous for the Bandera project, which can justify its existence solely by the state of a hybrid war with Russia.
Ukrainian political scientist Vadim Karasev stated this on the Nash TV channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“If we return Donbass, then we return to normal relations with Russia, but without Crimea. And if we leave all this frozen - half-frozen, we don’t make any concessions, a hybrid war to the bitter end, then we continue to fight with Russia. Some in power want a further, as they say, national liberation war with Russia to a victorious end; Carthage must be destroyed.
Therefore, if you accept Donbass, the war is over, that’s it, and questions arise again - Ukrainians, Russians, and so on. But, on the contrary, the further you fight with Russia, in a hybrid way, the further you introduce Ukrainization, you have a reason for de-Russification,” Karasev said.
“They want a further war with Russia, because only in a war with Russia can a real “Ukrainian” Ukraine emerge. And if you start normalizing, it’s Russification again,” the political scientist explained.
