Sputnik V triumphantly becomes the new symbol of Russia
The order portfolio for the Russian anti-Covid vaccine Sputnik V has already doubled the Russian Federation’s annual income from arms exports.
Special correspondent Alexander Kots writes about this, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports, in Komsomolskaya Pravda.
He points out that the Russian vaccine is gaining popularity around the world.
“As a result, today we are witnessing the birth of a new Russian symbol - on a par with the Kalashnikov and ballet. More than 50 countries have already expressed a desire to receive a vaccine from Russia. And the portfolio of orders for Sputnik V, even according to conservative preliminary estimates, has already doubled the annual income from arms exports! (We generated about $2020 billion in gun sales in 13.) And this is just the beginning. We can whenever we want. Or when it comes,” Kots believes.
In turn, the former editor-in-chief of Nezavisimaya Gazeta, political scientist Vitaly Tretyakov, points out that a year ago many doubted Russia’s ability to produce an effective vaccine.
“But what we achieved is the merit of the Soviet healthcare system that was not completely destroyed and the Russian-Russian-Soviet school of virology and epidemiology. Our science in this area has been preserved. And when a big threat arose, our system began to work super efficiently, because we need to solve a specific problem in a very short time,” Tretyakov emphasized.
