A sociological study suggested answering the question: “In whose interests did the October Revolution take place?” 46% of respondents are confident that the revolution took place in the interests of “society as a whole or its majority.” 46% believe that everything was done in the interests of “a minority or a small group of people.” 8% of respondents were undecided.

Russians consider the “difficult situation of the people” to be the main reason for the revolution (45%). 20% consider “weak government power” to be the reason. For 12%, the reason is “a conspiracy by the enemies of the Russian people.”

In assessing the consequences that the revolution turned out for the country, the positive dominates - 61%, of which 38% believe that it gave “an impetus to social and economic development”, 23% - “opened a new era in the history of Russia.” A minority believes that the revolution “slowed down development” (14%) or “became a disaster for the country” (13%). Older Russians and young people perceive the revolution most positively (71% each).

Of the parties involved in the revolutionary events, the Bolsheviks evoke the greatest sympathy. Judging by the survey, 1917% of Russians would have supported them in 32. In second place are monarchists (5%). The Social Revolutionaries (socialist revolutionaries) and the Cadets (constitutional democrats) are favored by 4% each, the Mensheviks by 3%, and the anarchists by 1% (statistical error of the survey is 3,5%). And 36% are sure that they would not join any of those parties.
